So I just read Episode III Revenge of the Sith, and considering that the movie is coming out next week and we’ve all seen the movies a million times, I want to ask this question:  What’s the deal with the Starwars obsession with people losing there limbs?  Luke, Anakin/Vader (in fact Anakin/Vader loses the same hand in total 3 times), Tyranus.

Characters are always getting there arms and legs lopped off.  I find this to be a bit of an odd running theme, what do you think are the reasons behind this?

Is this some sort of Joseph Campbell primeval element of social myth?

Or did Astar 'the I can put my arm back on, but you cant' Robot have a profound impact on George Lucas?

Maybe Lucas is an Acrotemnophiliac?

Did anyone ever see that short film about how Lucas came up with his ideas for Star Wars?  It's rather funny.  For the canucks, I saw it on ZeD.

I'm going to assume most people have seen this, but for those who haven't, its the Star Wars Rap! Pretty funny.

Here's another great flash toon parody of the movies. Its nowhere near being work safe due to violence and nudity, but its probably one of the funniest series I've seen on then net.
